Lizette Rivera, Program Coordinator, was honored to represent Lux Consulting Group’s Tribal Training & Technical Assistance Program and host a Poster Session Presentation this year at the 2018 Nation Indian Education Association (NIEA) Convention & Tradeshow in Hartford, CT on October 10-12, 2018.

The National Indian Education Association (NIEA) Convention is always one of my favorite events of the year! It is wonderful to connect directly with Tribal education teams working on behalf of Native communities across the country. It is also an important opportunity to spread the good word about how Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funding can support their Tribal education programs. It brings a smile to my face to be able to offer our free and personalized support to potential CSBG grantees through Lux Consulting Group’s Tribal Training & Technical Assistance Program. The enthusiastic responses were exciting, and I look forward to working with several new applicants this year.

The 2018 NIEA Convention provided an opportunity for Tribes, Tribal Organizations, and State and Federal Agencies to come together to strengthen education programs across Native Communities. Our CSBG Tribal Training & Technical Assistance Program’s poster session,

Don’t Miss Out! Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Funds Available to Support Native Education Programs, highlighted the CSBG mission, the important impact of its funds on Native Education programs, Tribal Grantee success stories, as well as, a description of the free training & TA services available to Tribal grantees.

Making sure Tribes don’t miss out on important funding is a priority for the Lux Tribal Training & Technical Assistance program.
