At Lux we are passionate about helping federal agencies engage minority serving institutions, including Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). We do this by providing grantee technical assistance, internship program support, and enhanced communication of student financial aid guidelines.
We were particulaly excited to participate in discussions about federal agencies and HBCUs at the 2016 annual National HBCU Week Conference last week. Hosted under the leadership of the White House Initiative on HBCUs, the conference focused on key issues like HBCU student debt levels, degree completion rates, and increasing HBCU funding for research in science and technology.
Lux CEO, Leonard Boyd, took the opportunity to discuss Lux’s work on supporting student programs at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and student financial aid guidelines at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Find examples of our Student Programs support here and our HHS Student Financial Aid Guidlines work here.
If you are working to increase collaboration between the federal government and HBCUs, we can help. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
